Among the 53 calls the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department received for medical and fire-rescue service Feb. 12-19 were the following:
Interstate 195 between exits 3 and 4, 1:47 a.m. Feb. 18. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Catonsville career station responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident with rollover in Arbutus and found an overturned vehicle with no occupants.
Paradise Avenue, 5700 block, 12:46 a.m. Feb. 18. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station andHalethorpe career station responded to assist Howard County units in extinguishing a fire in the basement of a house in Elkridge. Family had evacuated the residence before units arrived and no injuries were reported, according to the Howard County Fire Department.
Wilkens Avenue at Interstate 695, 9:33 p.m. Feb. 15. Crews responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident in Arbutus. One seriously injured person taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Greystone Road, 1200 block, 8:42 p.m. Feb. 14. Crews from the Arbutus volunteer station and Westview career station responded to the report of an unconscious person in Arbutus. One seriously ill person taken to a local hospital.
Benson Avenue, 4000 block, 8:23 a.m. Feb. 13. Crews from the Arbutus and Lansdowne volunteer stations and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded to the report of a building fire in Violetville and found a fire had been extinguished by the sprinkler system.
